Ascent Trip ReportThis one is just off Z road slightly more than 7 miles south of I-70. The highway has no shoulder or easy parking. Fortunately I found a remnant of a track into the field where the high spot is located more or less at the closest spot on the highway. This was doubly fortunate because the field was densely planted (soybeans I think but I'm a city boy so who knows) I didn't see how I could venture into the planted area very far without causing damage. The track wound through the palnted area ant to its back and up a very slight incline. at the highest spot on the track I was still about 100 feet form the hp coordinates. I wandered a few feet into the planted area but then thought better of it. I couldn't see any higher ground ahead. But admittedly I can't say for sure that there wasn't a few inches more rise under the plants. Easier to say after the harvest |
