Ascent Trip Report3rd class easiest to summit block which had only a cairn and a drill hole on the summit. It now has a register and hopefully the proposal to name it after Andy Smatko will be approved soon by the Board of Geographical Names. We parked at the junction to Bonita Meadow where we had camped the night before and ascended the ridge northwest to a point just northeast of the peak, then not finding a decent route up from that direction, traversed south around to the other side and found a easier climb up to two crags that are of almost equal elevation, but the one with the cairn and the drill hole appeared to be a little higher. |
