Ascent Trip Report

We drove up as high as we could and started hiking from the Port Townsend School of Woodworking and Preservation Trades Building as all higher roads are gated. We hiked up the unmaintained powerhouse trail right to left of the building. The trail takes you up to Battery Way E Road. We took a right and hiked that road until we got to the Y split. We stayed left and then turned right onto Cistern Rd. Walk about .1 miles up on the road and there will be a trail cutting up to the left. This is the trail up to the summit where a bunker and a generation is. This is a really cool park to go explore as it was an old army base. Tons of bunkers and old gun mounts and stuff like that everywhere. Defiantly plan for more than a 25 minute hike and spend some time waking around and exploring. Good views into the sound as well!
