Ascent Trip ReportFrom Camping Bellevue in Les Houches (15€ per night and tent!) used Télepherique de Bellevue and Tramway du Mont Blanc to get to Nid d'Aigle.
From there ascent to Refuge Tete Rousse (first overnight stay fro acclimatization). On the next day early in the morning (6.30 am) ascent of the classical Grand Couloir (ridge) route to Refuge de Gouter in an oncoming snow storm (difficult conditions!). The next day, start at 4 am (due to still bad weather conditions earlier) to the summit of Mont Blanc via Dome de Gouter and Refuge Vallot. Arrived at the summit about 10 am (difficult snow conditions and tricky ridge climbing). Spent 30 mins there with two Romanian climbers. Descent also presented itself more difficult than expected due to slushy snow. Back at Refuge de Gouter at 2.30 pm, descent down to Nid d'Aigle (and subsequently to Bellevue due to closure of tramway!) the next morning after breakfast at 7 am. Arrived back at Camping Bellevue around 2 pm.
