Ascent Trip Report

Carthew-Alderson Hike with Ashleigh & Joe. Since we didn't find the SW route after Summit Lake, we decided to scramble up before the col and then connect to the SW ridge and walk up to the summit. The views were breathtaking, but we did have high winds (50 km/h+) at the top, as well as rain showers on the way down to Carthew Lakes. We took the route down to Waterton townsite, which took a while and we were surprised by some thundershowers near Alderson Lake. Overall it was a nice day and we had lunch at the lower Carthew Lake. This hike without the summit is part of the Triple Crown Challenge.
