|Point Reached:||Caldron Peak - Peyto Lake observation deck|
| Elevation:||6988 ft / 2129 m|
Ascent Trip ReportLupe went from the Peyto Lake observation deck taking the trail heading SW down the forested ridge to the floor of the valley upstream of Peyto Lake. (Elevation gain for this hike is calculated from the low point on the valley floor back up to the Peyto Lake observation deck.) Once on the valley floor, Lupe followed Peyto Creek upstream as far as she could before SPHP couldn't go any farther, because the creek came through a narrow gap judged too dangerous to try to climb around. Lupe had hoped to reach the Peyto Glacier, but had to turn around when SPHP was forced to by the terrain. Lupe saw Caldron Peak, but made no attempt to climb it.
