Ascent Trip ReportFirst winter hiking experience and started with getting the car stuck in the snow at the end of the seasonal road to the trailhead. We hiked the ~0.9 miles up the road to the trailhead, and this being my first time on showshoes, I was thinking that I might have made a mistake. Everything turned out fine once I got used to using them and warmed up my muscles a bit. Used the new trail on the way up with relative ease. Summit was extremely cold, but took a few nice pictures. I did not go up the tower stairs because I didn't feel like taking my snowshoes off. We decided to take the old trail on the way down and made it out in short time. Thanks to my friend Paul Eichas for going with me and helping me out. |
