Ascent Trip ReportA long, long dayhike to get this peak. My list finish was scheduled for 6/28/2014 and I need this last peak to finish the SPS list. I started from Lodgepole and gained the High Sierra Trail.
Not too many people on the trail, and not much water except for a few creeks. I reached the lake at the end of a branch of the trail to Tamarack Lake. From there, a high cliff barred access, but found a route to the south west side of the lake. From there, a scree slope, and a scramble to the summit. On the way down, i descended to much and ended up at a vertical drop on the cliff band. I headed west along the edge and got back down to the lake.
I got back to the TH at 10:00 PM after a long long day.
A worthwhile climb.
