Ascent Trip Report

This was number 5 of our Silver Run, Lockhart, Whitetail, Beartooth expedition. We were successful with everything but Beartooth. Once we hiked back down to the turn for the Black Canyon Lake drainage, the trail quickly becomes unmaintained and then putters out to a bushwhack in dense forests underbrush. After 4 days up at September Morn Lake we weren't energized enough to bushwhack with our heavy packs on all the way to Black Canyon Lake. I am interested in communicating with anyone else who is successful or attempted Beartooth Mountain on their route and the trail conditions.
