Ascent Trip ReportWe parked at the Gould Rd. trailhead and took the Bellows Pipe Trail up the mountain past waterfalls and a brook on the right. Trail turned hard right after bridge over brook and climbed steadily up the Thunderbolt backcountry ski trail, passing partial viewpoints such as The Needle's Eye, Big Bend, The Stairs, etc. Thunderbolt Trail merged with AT South; we then proceeded up to the summit. Ate lunch at the summit and descended via the Gould Trail, crossing Pecks Brook on a covered bridge built in 1998 . Descended to Gould Rd, left with a short walk back to the car and the starting trailhead. |
