Ascent Trip Report

A much better way to do this route. Instead of parking at the parking lot, we parked down at Big Wilson Falls. This have us far more vertical for the day and we got to explore the nice grouping of slate blocky falls and then at the rail road crossing the old abandoned railroad junction station which was interesting. Also along the way, my sons founds several nice off trail routes where some great class 3 was available the first being just before the visitor center and plenty near the peaks and between the saddle. We played for a long time. If only I had a swim suit for the falls on the way down!

The final ascent up from the Audubon Trails is a short scramble with great views near the West Peak (2015-07-04). Photo by William Musser.
