Ascent Trip ReportEased into the 4th of July weekend with a strenuous hike. Temperature reached into the low 80s but a early start time made it bearable. On the trail we encountered rocky sections near the start of the trail and quite a bit of dust near top. No snow on trail. There's one stream crossing to refill water bottles at.
As we left the forest amazing views began to appear. Some wildflowers were in bloom along the trail. At the summit the clear sky gave us a 100 mile view in every direction. A cool breeze made it easy to sit and take it all in. The butterflies were attracted to my fuchsia shirt. The only other people we saw were two women horseback riding on our hike down.
