Ascent Trip ReportThis was a really short, but steep, .5 mile climb. I don't recall seeing any trail markers but you don't need them. The trick is finding the trailhead - you'd think it'd be easy on a dead end road but... I think I read that there were two trails but I chose the one on Green Lake Road. Drive .4 miles and you'll see what looks like a driveway with a big rock on the left hand side - that will lead, almost immediately, to the trailhead parking.
I got there around 5:30 AM and there were already two cars there but I figured they were doing another trail (there are a few options at this trailhead) when I didn't see any names when I signed in but as it turns out both parties had already climbed the mountain and were on their way back down as I was climbing up. I would wager that they were locals wanting to see the amazing sunrise that morning.
I would give this climb a 3 for difficulty - it's a very steady uphill climb but it's only a half mile. The view is worth it from the tower though.
If I had known how short of a climb this was going to be I would have planned on doing another one that morning but I wasn't really prepared to pick one off a list without researching it so I ended up just going home but it felt more like I did a long stretch rather than a real climb.
