Ascent Trip Report9:08 - started up the AT/LT. The first mile of the trail is a piece of cake and essentially walking just slightly uphill. I haven't had much experience bushwhacking but Little Stratton is so close to the LT that I set the GPS coordinates in my phone and planned to hit this one. When I was exactly east of the summit of Little Stratton I veered off and bushwhacked to the summit, then headed north from the summit and caught back up to LT. The whole side trip took just an extra 30-45 minutes to get Little Stratton and heading north to catch the LT actually saved some time.
11:08 - Summit of Stratton. Walked right past, headed the 0.7 miles to stratton -North summit. The LT/AT veers off left past the fire tower, an unmarked trail straight past the fire tower goes to stratton-north.
11:20 - Summit of Stratton-North. This is the location of the ski resort and the only real views on the mountain are here.
11:40 - Back at the summit of Stratton. Wooded summit, absolutely no view except from the top of the fire tower. I hung out up in the fire tower for awhile, then ate my lunch on a little natural rock seat area
1:40 - Back at TH.
Overall a good hike with a nice trail. Talked with a couple section hikers, saw a couple non-talkative through hikers, chatted with a dude named Ethan hiking the same time as me. Realized the trail is fairly easy as I pounded out 8.5 miles in about 4 hours hike time. It's mostly just a hike through the woods as there is no scrambling and no views really except for the fire tower, but it's always good to get out in the Greens and summit one of vermont's biggest
