Ascent Trip Report

We were given the last minute approval by the woman of the house to go on an afternoon hike. It was already 3:30 when we left and I was considering knocking out the low level, mostly drive up mountains, buck and turner. Daughter said she did not want to drive up a "low level" mountain but wanted to climb a high mountain. Given the time constraint and the fact that she is only five, I decided Ellinor was our option. We arrived at the upper trailhead at 17:15 and headed up quickly. We met three goats on the way, each in close proximity to the trail. We slowly and cautiously walked around them and pressed on. Arriving at the top at 18:45, we had excellent views and a chocolate bar to celebrate. Heading down we eyed two more goats and a small marmot looking creature about the size of a cat. After the long trip down, we made it to the car just shy of 2000 and drove off the mountain seeing some funny black pig looking animal the size of a large kittin running across the road.

All and all, a great trip and my daughters highest peak.
