Ascent Trip Report

Before flight back; early morning around 6AM on way to airport drove down to find the Doster Country Club. Saw Chinigo's Trip Report and tried a different approach. parked at obvious water tower with a good place to temporarily park the rental car. Hiked down to low area south of the County Highpoint. Doster is a busy road with poor shoulders to walk up so I went down to Oak and Elm and found a low point to start my "hike" up that the USGS map shows as a closed contour pit near the road at elevation 900. A nice peaceful walk up to the Water tower and freshly plowed field. The HP is obvious. He suggests using the golf course but I was not inclined to use it. The distance directly from the water tower is very close - probably 0.2 miles. I started to the south to make it a hike to give the legs a nice stretch. I made it a jog-walk.
