Ascent Trip ReportThis is an addendum and advice for future visitors. I was in a 4WD high-clearance vehicle and even I got very nervous prior to the saddle mentioned in previous reports. I found myself doing what seemed like a 20-point turnaround, with my vehicle's backup sensors beeping obnoxiously at each minor movement. Approximately one mile or so before the summit there are several spots alongside the road for which to park vehicles; I recommend future visitors to find such spots and then walk on foot from there, and although that adds distance the walking/hiking would be straightforward. This is a beautiful mountain and the lower-half logging has not at this time adversely affected the access road. I actually thought the last mile heading up to Pyramid Pass was a worse stretch of road than the first mile or so beyond the pass leading to the logging area. Great views in all directions from the summit. |
