Ascent Trip ReportFrom the gate (locked for winter until April 15) at the Davis Flat CG we drove 10.2 miles up FS 18N06 on St. John Mountain. This road continues to the top, but we parked below a short but steep, rutted stretch and walked the remaining 1/4 mile with about 250' of vertical gain. This is the only driving challenge, although expect some rough spots lower down. The obvious HP is a low-rise, rocky outcrop 25-30 yards north from the end of the road, where a weathered electronics site stands in the generally flat summit area. |
