Ascent Trip Report

One of my favorites of a 43 peak excursion! Drive up to parking in the state park. Trail winds around mountain to top where we climbed the stone tower. Great views! Apparently the tower was the results of a local who was outraged in the 1880s when Encyclopedia Britannica claimed the highest peaking Connecticut was under 1000 feet. Paid to have the mountain surveyed proving otherwise an arranged for the tower.
