Ascent Trip Report

Nice cool day clouds in and out and some windy areas . This was a tough hike for Charlie and I but we did it, 8.5 miles and over 3000 feet of climbing. Ran into a group of 5th graders from Van Horn TX spread out along the trail. Besides the group of kids only a handful of people on the trail. Thunder off in the distance on the way down got closer and closer and the sky opened up shortly after we got back. Drove through some hail and drove over about an inch or two on the way down to Van Horn, quite the day but happy to have spent some tome on top with the unique summit marker.
