Ascent of Luahna Peak on 2008-07-16Date: | Wednesday, July 16, 2008 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | Luahna Peak | Location: | USA-Washington | Elevation: | 8400 ft / 2560 m |
Ascent Trip ReportThe scramble, side hill, glacier trudge from Clark over to Luahna is fun, takes a few hours and probably really only worthwhile if you are trying to summmit Washington's 100. The standard ridge ascent (which ridge eludes me right now, NW I think) is rotten and frankly not a whole lot of fun. I think in the winter or early spring, when covered in snow, it would be great. From high camp in the basin below Clark it is about 10-12 hours RT for the two peaks. |
