Ascent Trip ReportParked at DEC trailhead on Ulster Co Rd 47 (which is a really nice drive coming in from both directions, but especially from the south). Patches of snow/ice started appearing at around probably 3500 ft., ground was completely covered starting at around 3800 feet. I'd guess 18 inches still on the ground in places near the summit. Very hard packed, had no issues with postholing and was able to walk right on top of it. A bit slippery on the way down, probably should've had microspikes. No views at the actual summit but a sweet overlook maybe 100 feet down from it. Good part of that is you're shielded from most of the wind the whole way up. Could hear it absolutely whipping through the trees but really wasn't too bad on the trail.
