Ascent Trip Report

Brought the girlfriend along for this quick trip before afternoon lunch plans.

The parking area was one of the nicest I've seen at an OSP on the peninsula: very clean, nicely landscaped, and newly redone. Immediately in front of the parking lot is a commemorative site for Audrey Rust, the executive director of the Peninsula Open Space Trust, that gives some history of the area.

The fire road to Mindego Hill begins on the south side of the parking lot and goes for 1.5mi before reaching the locked gate with signs posted to stay out until late 2015 when the cattle reintroduction will have completed.

You'll probably pick up an old trail around 37.31136,-122.22694 that heads west, switchbacks up the north side of the hill, and then loops around clockwise to its top.
