Ascent Trip ReportDid a quick hike up Mt. Wonalancet after work.
From the Old Mast Rd, the Wonalancet Range Trail had an easy grade, with about 1/2 to 1 foot of snow on the trail proper. There were big rocks and boulders everywhere, which was interesting. Near where the woods transition, the trail got significantly steeper, and the steep pitch before the start of the Hibbard Mtn. bypass had a lot of ice. Once at the bypass junction, I turned left to stay on the WRT, which was far less tracked out. It was still steep until just before the summit, where there was a bit of a reprieve. No views from the top (wooded), but there was a nice ledge view to Chocorua and the eastern Lakes Region somewhat near the top.
