Ascent Trip Report

Keegan and I hiked Saddle for the first time. It is a relatively easy hike after traversing from the top of the Schlasman's Lift onto the ridgeline above Mundy's Bowl. The first part of the hike is very rocky and we had to cross a sideslope, but once outside of the ski area boundary the ridge is wide and easy hiking. Keegan basically ran up the bootpack, helped by being about 6'7". I was slower. We met some skiers that took us from North Saddle to South Saddle and showed us a good way down over there. Much of the snow was windblown and getting sunbaked at around 30 degrees F, but it made for good skiing where the wind hadn't formed a crust on the snow.
