Ascent Trip Report

As far as I can determine, Big Hill is the 12th highest named highpoint in Louisiana, but this highpoint has two summits. This one (the south) was an easy .15 mile bushwhack from the road to a benchmark on the summit. The benchmark was labeled "No. 4," but it was the only one we could find. There was no views here due to the trees, but the northern highpoint had views in all directions. A word of caution: Don't confuse this highpoint (Big Hill) with the Natchitoches Parish highpoint (Big Hill Lookout Tower). They are two different summits.
