Ascent Trip Report

Beautiful, sunny but cold winter day. Temps started at 3F and finished at 26F. Calm, some breezes in the col between North Dome & Sherrill, and descent from Sherrill, but otherwise very calm and warm! Sun was strong! Minor trailbreaking needed. Snow was packed more or less. Initial re-breaking trail from Camp Timberlake to North Dome, otherwise followed tracks the entire bushwack. I 'broke trail' twice enroute to Camp Timberlake - nice to break trail that's already broken! Snowshoes needed though! Atleast 4' of packed snow beneath our snowshoes. Lost portion of favorite hiking poles (that match the snowshoes enroute to Sherrill)! Catskill 3500 Winter peak #22!

Started from Camp Timberlake - drivers licenses and car plate numbers to Timberlake. Finished at Shaft Road. Shuttled cars. Total of 10-11 hikers. Marv Freeman organizer. Mike Dwyer lead. Viv, Al, Stephanie, and quite a few others.

Start 9:30am
North Dome 11:30am
Sherrill 1:15pm
Finish 2:15pm

Most gorgeous winter hike day so far!
