Ascent Trip Report

Due to several feet of snow on the ground and time constraints, Ben and I hit up the White cross to ascend and planned the White dot down. Packed crampons, decided to leave the snowshoes in the car as we were just doing the White. Anything on the Dot did not need crampons or snowshoes, but many parts of the cross caused us to constantly posthole, sometimes up to the waist. For the most part you could weakly discern the cross trail and you has packed snow if you stayed in prior footprints, but due to blowing severdl times we were looking for the trail and wishing we had snowshoes. Several areas would have been easier with yak trax but crampons not really needed.

It started snowing just as we got to the summit and weather was brutal. 5ish degrees on top with probably 50 mph winds. Tough to even stand up and the snow sandblasted the eyes. Wish I brought goggles.

Got down white dot in probably 30-45, many areas you could sit and glissade down. Pretty fun and great peak to do in the winter.
