Ascent Trip Report

I started this hike from the Deukmejian Wilderness Park. The gate for the park opens at 0700 and parking is free. I took the rim of the valley trail to the summit. I took a couple of fire roads (FR2N76 and FR2N76C) which connect to crescenta view trail this will lead you back to the parking lot. The entire hike was about 9.5 miles and took me around 5 hours, with breaks. Be warned, you are going to be climbing the entire time. There are essentially no flat sections. It doesn't matter which trail you take up, it's going to be a climb. That being said, crescenta view is steeper than rim of the valley. I started hiking at about 0730 and was exposed to direct sunlight most of the hike, but there are a few shaded section on rim of the valley. Views were very limited due to fog.
