Ascent Trip Report

Followed both David Sanger and Scott Burley's directions which were spot on! Thanks! Road was n good condition and our Toyota Highlander made it with no problems. There were a few trees down on the main dirt logging road, but luckily someone had come through and cut them out of the road. The metal girder bridge across Slate Creek is in great shape. The sign for 21N68Y has a bush growing over it, so hard to see. We made the turn and drove to the end of the white gravel and then parked in the open turnout.

After taking off up the trail, keeping left on a very steep trail. There are trees down along the trail but it is still fairly easy to navigate. We walked to the top and located the stump with the sticks and pinecones piled around it, exactly like the pictures! The kids played around in the area and actually found the concrete block about 50 feet away from the stick stump. It was difficult to see but it was South of this area and next to a small rise of trees. We walked around, making sure to cover all the highpoints, and then headed back down to the truck for the drive out.
