Ascent Trip ReportWinter ascent via Commonwealth Basin
It was an extremely low-snow year. Travel up the Commonwealth Basin and up to the Guye Peak saddle was straightforward. Streams and creeks were exposed. Log were snow covered. As-such, we cross a chaval wearing snowshoes. From the saddle with Guye Peak, the route was driect up the ridge toward Cave Ridge toward the north side. Here an obvious broad acclivity (ca. 5000') provides a switchback to gain the summit area. Pass the lower south summit on the right, proceeding towards the higher true summit. |
