Ascent Trip Report

Parked at Jacks Gap, hiked Jacks Knob trail (which doesn't go over Jacks Knob anymore) to AT, then AT to Cold Springs gap where I dove off and went up the north spur of Horsetrough. Over the little peak and through a saddle then the real peak sneaks up on you. Everything covered in rime ice, and all was near white. Wind was blowing hard and it was bitter cold, but the climb kept me warm.

Went down the east spur, then the northeast spur off of that to the AT. Don't go that way, the last 300 meters is through a laurel thicket that beat me up.
