Ascent Trip ReportBack packed into Roaring Brook Lean-to from 9N visited Owls Head, dropped pack at Lean-to and retraced trail down a couple of hundred feet. There is a cairn there now, nothing like that twenty yrs ago. a straight shot north, snowy slope. Summit barried in snow. Canister under snow, found tape on tree marking it. dug for it no luck. return to Lean-to and set up tent in Lean-to. Very cold night, had fire in pit. Next morning walked up trail toward jct of Giant Mtn trail and found LARGE cat tracks had come down trail caught scent of me, and turned around back up. The spread of its prints was huge. |
