Summit Doubletop 11:45am
Coldest winter day yet! 7F at start of hike. 3F at end of hike. Luckily not windy on the bushwhack. Waters not high - no wet feet or toes! Wore 4 thermal layer tops, jacket & vest; 2 bottom layers. Footwarmers. Handwarmers. Hat, gloves. Did not take off any layers the entire hike! Warm enough for the entire hike, fingers and toes! No snowballs on bottom of microspikes! Brett makes hot chocolate for post-hike. Lunch at Pizza place in Woodstock.
Bushwhack ascends, flattens, ascends, flattens.. no loss of altitude. Iced under the snow covering from last night. Drank 3L on the hike itself (6 miles), total all 4.5L finished.
First experience with Jitney (Fort Lee, NJ to GWB): $2, every 10 minutes
