Ascent Trip ReportThe Cascade Crest Trail stretched through Washington from the Canadian Border to the Columbia River before it became part of the Pacific Crest Trail system in 1968. My dad was attempting to complete the Cascade Crest Trail in segments from the 1940s or early '50s until 1993 when he completed it at the Columbia River. He did one of the segments, stretching from Meander Meadows south to Stevens Pass on a 1960 backpacking trip with our family joined by friends from Wenatchee, a very memorable trip for me at age 13. The trail goes virtually over the summit of Grizzly Peak just south of the location for this photo, one of the very beautiful stretches of trail that run right along the Cascade Crest. The photo was taken approximately here: https://caltopo.com/map.html#ll=47.85318,-121.15254&z=14&b=t&o=r&n=0.25.
