|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||Sierra Estrella High Point|
| Elevation:||4512 ft / 1375 m|
Ascent Trip ReportDrove in on Riggs Road then made a left (instead of right for Quartz Peak). Had to cross several washes and the road is rutted, and sometimes rocky, near all of them. There's another road heading east below one of the towers (see GPS route for location) that will save a little bit of walking if you're into that sort of thing. High clearance is a must. My AWD CR-V didn't have any issues.
The drainage I took is a fairly easy way to the upper reaches of the range. Lots of boulder hopping, but nothing too crazy. I had to bypass a couple rougher sections where I couldn't climb directly above larger boulders. The wash spits you out right on the backbone of the Estrella range and from there, it's an easy off-trail jaunt to the peak.
