Ascent of Morne Diablotins on 2015-01-05
|Date:||Monday, January 5, 2015|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||4747 ft / 1446 m|
Ascent Trip ReportAbout 2.5 hours each way. Trail started out OK but after about half way, deteriorated into an awful jungle gym require contortioning around, over, and under roots/branches. Also, lots of mud. Progress was very slow, like 0.3 mph. (I found the trip report from previous peakbagger trip report to be a good description).
The benchmark is not at the top.I followed the "trail" for a while, until it curved an around to the left and seemed to end. My GPS still said about 200 feet. I did not see any good way to get over there -- no trail, thick brush. Visibility was maybe 150 ft (I was in a cloud), and I didn't see anything higher in that or any direction... so I think I was at the top.
