Ascent of The Rattlesnakes on 2014-12-31Date: | Wednesday, December 31, 2014 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | The Rattlesnakes | Location: | USA-New Hampshire | Elevation: | 1289 ft / 392 m |
Ascent Trip ReportFrom West Rattlesnake, I headed over to East Rattlesnake via the Ridge Trail.
The trail dipped 250 ft. over a icy footbed to the appropriately named Col Trail, and then I climbed another 300 ft. to the lookout ledge (good view as well) and the true summit (no view). Descended the Col Trail to NH 113, which wasn't too pleasant to walk on due to the overly wide corridor near the end (woods road), messy footbed and scattered small blowdowns.
Finished it off with a road walk back to the Old Bridle Path TH. |
