Ascent Trip ReportDrove to trailhead in torrential downpour, but very conveniently the rain stopped pretty much exactly when we got there. So the path (which is quite clear to follow) was dripping wet and slightly muddy, but very pleasant. A local told us it is most beautiful in spring, when the dogwoods are in bloom. It was still quiet and quite peaceful. Stopped to relax on the way down, but heard gun go off (presumably a hunter -- ok, so not so peaceful after all!). Continued on down a little more quickly, trying to not look like animals.
On a personal note, as well as being state highpoint #32, this marked the completion for me of all state highpoints that are still lower than the St Louis Arch (which stands a towering 630 feet above the Mississippi river) :-)
