Black Hills, SD Expedition No. 108: Lupe's 2nd climb of the day. She climbed Calumet Ridge to the W first. Vertical gain is calculated from estimated low point on Lupe's explorations from Calumet Ridge on the way to Silver Mountain. Record high temperature of 71 degrees in Rapid City for this date. Some snow on the ground, but pretty much restricted to N facing slopes. Lupe reached the summit of Silver Mountain about 20 minutes before sunset. Waited for the sunset up there, but despite some clouds to the W, it really didn't develop into anything very colorful. The 360 degree views were very nice though, as Silver Mountain is nearly treeless due to a forest fire some years ago.
