Ascent Trip ReportA gorgeous warm day. way above average for temperatures this time of year. Summit temp was mid-70s at 10am. Parked at the PCT crossing on Lost Valley Rd. Started hiking a little later than planned at 8:50am. Noticed another parked car but didn't see anyone the entire hike; maybe they hiked south on the PCT? I was good to see the vegetation coming back after the last fire; especially the little pines. I reached the saddle in about 45 minutes; reached the summit another 22 minutes later. Took plenty of pictures. Found the benchmark, reference marker 1, reference marker 2, and the register. The oldest notepad was from April 1995. Noticed several names I know. I replaced the ziplock bag as the "zipper" had torn. The oldest notepad is almost dust; should be archived. Summit time was about 15 minutes. Return hike was about 57 minutes as I wanted to get to my next objective. The way up/down from the summit is well ducked up the steep terrain; only a couple loose scree sections.
This was the first stop of a 4 peak day which is aggressive due to the short daylight hours.
