Ascent Trip Report The driving directions to these peaks are exit I5 at Lake Hughes Rd. Take Lake Hughes 23.6 miles to junction with Ns, Pine Canyon Road. Turn left (west). Go 4.7 miles to Bushnell summit with junction with 7N23 on left. Go 2.0 miles on 7N23 to fork, go right. At 3.2 miles junction with 7N08. Park here. You will see 2 locked gates and road to right. The locked gate on the left leads to Sawtooth. The one in the center goes to Little Burnt and Burnt. The road on the right leads to Liebre.
Our first hike was to Little Burnt and Burnt. Go around the gate and go approx. 1 ¼ mile to the use trail to Little Burnt. There is a faint use trail going to the summit. It is about ¼ mile to the summit. There was a register on the summit. Go back to the road and continue on to Burnt. We did not find a register on Burnt. On the return we followed and old jeep road from Burnt that meet the main road at Little Burnt. It saved some walking on the road.
The next hike was Sawmill. This peak used to be on the HPS list but was delisted. From the park spot drove about ¼ mile to an old road on the left. It is blocked by several 8X8 timbers. Follow this old road about 1/10 mile in a southwest direction to the summit. There is a paddle board with a benchmark on the summit.
The next hike was Sawtooth. There is a new locked gate at the junction with at 7N08. This adds about 3.2 miles round trip to this hike. Follow the road about 1.6 miles to a firebreak.Follow the firebreak down into a saddle and up and over a bump and on out the ridge to the summit. The summit is the first bump on the ridge. It is not the second bump the one further out. There is a register on the top.
