Ascent of Bowfell on 2014-11-24
|Date:||Monday, November 24, 2014|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||2959 ft / 901 m|
Ascent Trip ReportA clockwise round of Bowfell, Bowfell North Top, Esk Pike and Rossett Pike from the National Trust car park at the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel at the head of Langdale. Cloud base initially 800-900 metres on the ascent via The Band but soon rising to 900-1,000 metres as the wind strengthened. Fortunately the enlarging breaks in the cloud allowed the justly famous Bowfell summit panorama to be appreciated; every major group of fells in Lakeland is seen well from this superb vantage point, particularly the Scafell Group and the Langdale Pikes.
