Ascent Trip Report

The final trek out to Vermont, we decoded to go up the ski trails up to Mt. Ellen. From there we connected with the Appalachian trail and hiked across the ridge over to Mt. Abraham. We had to back track from Abraham to Mt. Lincoln, from there we slid on our butts the whole way down. We had cars parked at both sides so it wasn't that bad, we got permission to hike the ski trails because they weren't in season yet, I attempted this last year and they didn't allow me to hike it. The ski trails are very steep in places and have some ice near the top, the ridge is mostly covered by treeline (easiest part). The trail down was moderately easy but id suggest wearing micro spikes for sure. The top of Ellen, Abraham, and Lincoln all had 360 degree views from the summit. Simply amazing I've gone this far and checked off another state of 4,000 foot peaks.
