Ascent Trip ReportRMI guided ascent with good friend John Williamson. Disappointment Cleaver route. Weather was perfect for the 3 days on mountain. Had the wonderful? opportunity to attempt sleep in the loft of the RMI client hut at Camp Muir. Of the 24 climbers in our group, 6 gained the crater rim and 3 ventured on to the true summit; those being myself, John, and a young guy from Seattle who was on his third, and finally successful, attempt. He was ecstatic. So was I. Wished I had brought a Frisbee to play with in the open expanses of the crater. Yeah, the weather was that good. Contrary to the criticisms, I had a great experience with RMI. Our guides had the ability to identify and separate the climbers who had trained, prepared, and were serious about achieving a summit, from those poor impulsive souls who were simply there for amusement.
