Ascent Trip Report

As far as I can determine, Bearwallow Hill is the 8th highest named highpoint in Indiana. My son, Marshall, and I visited this highpoint after sunset, so we were fortunate that it was an easy "grab and go." The highest point is located in an open field only a few dozen feet to the east of the road and the summit benchmark is easy to find. There appears to have been a summit tower here at one time with some concrete remains surrounding the benchmark. It was too late in the evening to notice if there were any views of the surrounding area, but there did appear to be a large old abandoned home across the street.
