Ascent Trip Report

Enjoyed our first Bushwhack hike in the Catskills - weather was hovering around freezing with intermittent light snow at 3000" and above - no ice on trails, light dusting of snow on summits, slightly breezy with overcast clouds. Started at Denning Pkg at 7:15 am and followed Fishermans Path along the Neversink then bushwhacked to the col between Rocky and BC, turned towards BC at the fire pit and made our way through the conifers and a few small ledges to the summit/canister. Backtracked out down to the col with more ease than the way up and made our way to Rocky in very short order (pretty easy, one good ledge just before summit). From there to Lone was a few nice ledges down and then a few real good ones on the way up - favorite part of the day. Intersected the Peek-Table trail and headed towards Peek (about 10 minutes) and went just past the large rock at the summit to a great view via a short side trail. Back to Table summit was about 20 minutes including a stop at another view along the way and then back down to parking by 5:15 in the daylight! Total time on trail 10 hours including 1 hour of summit time.
