Ascent Trip ReportThis member of the State Park System has four different maps from four different sources. The spot I marked as the highpoint is on the edge of the park when it meets the Bay Area Ridge Trail.
To get to the park, get on the Great Highway along the coast. A little over a half mile south of the county line you will see Thornton State Beach west of the highway with a small circular parking area. I parked the first time and walked to the edge of the cliffs and stood on all the high ground. Then I went back an hour later and walked as far south as I could, according to a different map, to a spot along the fence between houses and the highway. There was very thick ground vines to step through at the end.
There is great earthquake evidence at this site.
