Ascent Trip ReportDo this one during hunting season. The gate was open and we were able to follow Ken Jones' directions. We parked at a small landing on the left side of the rode. We bushwacked for a while until we found the old road. On the way back we noticed that the road was about 100 feet north of where we parked. This is the "truncated remnants of the old road leading down from the summit, hidden behind a pile of strategically-placed trees, above a 15-foot-high road-cut embankment" described by Chris Roundtree. Navigation up the road was was simple. It appeared that a small herd of deer or elk had slept in the meadow the night before. Lots of grass was trampled and there were numerous piles of scat. We found the old lookout foundation. We took a couple pictures and headed down to get out of the rain.
