Ascent Trip Report

Amazing climb with Brian, excellent weather.

Climbing Team: Cory Sytsma, Brian Sytsma. Both in our mid-40s.
Abilities: Climbed Rainier, Baker, Adams and Hood, each a few times, and a couple small rock peaks like Ingalls and Chair Peak.
Conditioning: We both run 2-3 times a week, 3-4 miles each outing. Average pace about 8-9 min/miles. Most of our running is on trails.
Dates: 9/19 - 9/21
Route: Over Disappointment Peak, avoiding glacier travel on the Gerdine and Cool glaciers.
Weather: Absolutely perfect, not a cloud in the sky. White Pass was high mid-70s, lows in the 40s.
Gear: We went light, Salomon Goretex trail running shoes, microspikes, running tights.  We drank straight from all the creeks (upstream), never treated the water.
